Arriving by train
Basel boasts excellent domestic and foreign rail connections. The SBB and Deutsche Bahn (DB) stations are situated close to the exhibition site.
How to get to the exhibition site
- from the Swiss and French train station (Basel SBB/SNCF) it is a ten-minute journey by tram. There is a direct service to “Messeplatz” via line 2 or line E from tram platform 3.
- from the German Deutsche Bahn train station (Basel Bad), it is a five-minute walk or a three-minute journey by tram (on line 2 to “Binningen” or line 6 to “Allschwil”).
- from the city centre (shopping centres), it is a five-minute walk or a two-minute journey by tram (to “Messeplatz”).
- from EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg, it is a fifteen-minute drive (bus link via SBB/SNCF station or taxi).
The price for a journey by taxi from EuroAirport is around CHF 35, and for a journey from Basel SBB/SNCF around CHF 15.
Follow the “P Messe” signs on the A2/A3 motorway (from Switzerland) or the A5 motorway (from Germany) (see route map). The Basler Vekehrsbetriebe (Basel city transport) provide a daily Park&Ride shuttle service to take you to and from the trade fair from 7.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (until 6 p.m. on the last day of the trade fair). Price for parking space including shuttle bus: CHF 20/EUR 20.
