Self-descriptive packaging concept eliminates sales displays

In the concept phase of packaging, manufacturers often rely on tried and tested solutions that often block an eye for modern and sales-promoting possibilities. Through the cooperation with W.AG, the product became a self-explanatory service ambassador, without any additional effort.

Customer-specific consulting already in the product development phase

A Swiss manufacturer of products for the surface treatment of stainless steel relied on its usual concept of a case with a screen-printed logo and separate paper operating instructions. In order to gain the necessary attention at the point of sale (POS), separate displays were provided to promote the product.

Searching for an attractive case the case manufacturer W.AG was contacted and invited to Switzerland. After a detailed meeting all important points were discussed. During the meeting the Keay Account Manager of W.AG suggested a new way for the packaging concept.

The alternative for the conventional screen printing a double-sided in-mould labelling (IML) was suggested. The front IML would do the job of the display and the back IML would do the job of the manual. The plastic case would become the promoter and service-ambassador. The case colour was matched to the corporate design of the Swiss manufacturer and an individual foam inlay according the products was designed.

Today the product is delivered without the additional effort (using a manual or a display). The plastic case promotes and explains the stored products at the point of sale.
